2004 December - Jack's whanau newsletter ending - Darryn moving to UK

DECEMBER and according to New Zealand's Green Party, the politics for Christmas present buying means that you should consider expending your energy as a gift and not extending your credit card to buy your gifts.  What philosophical point do you perspire to?  (Richard says, aspire; I say, expire)    Mike Ward MP for Nelson said:  'Gift vouchers promising to wash or walk the dog, cook tea, go for a walk, make love, read a story or water the garden all have the capacity to enrich the lives of the giver and receiver alike, while leaving the bank balance intact.'

Jack will be celebrating his birthday on 19th December,   just under a month to his 50th wedding anniversary to Mari Rona and the same day of Aunty Mona's 75th.

Danny phoned tonight and he is quite busy with his social life and has no spare time until February as he meets his community involvement with Waterwise, church and family, all in the opposite order of importance.  (Danny's photo in the newsletter is too gruesome to uplift )

Posted by Margret on 11/1/2003, 31KBDarryn and Julie leave the Waitara home for a trip to the UK, via Rarotonga and a few days in California with the TLC coming from Sherrie, Rangi and Roger.  Julie's home County is Surrey, and she is from Guildford.

Now I come to the newsletter.  I am so sorry that the newsletter has finished.  But!  what an appreciated success it has been.  The efforts of Jack, supported by Mari, he has been the Main Man in this successful publishing concept.  I disliked getting teasers from him about 'you'll enjoy this story' and he would hold off and make us all wait until the printing was done weeks later.  Blimmin' tease!  They even, yes, Mari too, nearly, and I quote, 'cacked themselves' when they selected the rubber lips photo of me sitting on top of the pedal car.  I ask you, what a nice couple they are to laugh at their poor young cousin!  I have seen his skills bear fruit in his newsletters as he displayed the contributions and illustrations, for us to read.  No wonder he has little hair, although his tonsorial elegance still abounds, as he makes the headline/deadlines of  the publications. Posted by MariJack1 on 11/21/2004, 15KBThanks for the Memories   To Mari and Jack :  jackmari@bigpond.net.au

Mum phoned last week and said that she was looking forward to Jack's newsletter.  I reminded her that it was, indeed, the last issue and she said that even if it's the last, it's still wanted.  She said that she loved getting it (newsletter) and reading it and made the effort to contact the urbane-Brisbane(s) that she had enjoyed reading her copy.  Mum said that she had talked to Aunty Ruby about getting her story into print - and that could be a possibility if someone gets to visit with Aunty before I approach her.
