Whanau in touch, December 2003
Xmas greetings from Dennis followed by a welcome from the editor, Jack. Read stories from our Lovable Larrikin cousin Danny and then the news of Jackie, home and work life and extramural studies and internal studies for management at work. News from the Brenda, and of Gloria who's expecting a baby !!!! mokopuna, congratulations! Vicki and children from Rongotea and Mari's Brisbane Xmas. We move onto Aunty Ruby's Maori taewa, then Xmas wishes to both Brenda and to Gerald and over the ocean to Aunty Es from Aunty Mona. Handsome Larrikin Lovable Daniel Frederick smiles at us after telling us where he's going for Xmas and what to take to his brother, Ronnie as a gift.
Finally we can read of how Jack, our editor, tells us how he loves us as a whanau. He passes on his and our aroha to Brenda and Uncle Hip. We can enjoy reading this newsletter over the years and must say thank you to Jack and Mari for putting up with us. As Jackie has referred to him reverently, he's the ClanFather.
Happy New Year for 2004 and Arohanui from Margret

Greetings Whanau,
I have just read the latest edition of the Newsletter and have JUST FINALLY realised that Christmas is around the corner. I knew..........but until reading the newsletter it didn't really seem real. Reading all the messages, especially from the Aunties was a real treat, and to be honest I shed a few tears. For us it is going to be a very quiet Christmas with Gerald recuperating from his operation. He's going to have to learn to take it easy for a couple of months while he heals, and for him it is going to be very frustrating as he has always been very active - at work and around our home. Thanks for all the good wishes we have received from whanau, and our love goes back to you all. A short and sweet message to you all this time - From the Crawford Whanau in Wainuiomata we wish you all the very best for Christmas, and happy and loving thoughts to you all for the New Year. Enjoy it heartily with your whanau.

Dear Rona and Gerald
The newsletter was a treat to read and I agree with you about its contents. It gave me knowledge that Gerald had been unwell and I pass on my best wishes.
End of the year is coming quick and I am glad to see you've got Jack's wonderful newsletter to enjoy. The Xmas message from Dennis was warm, though I'm surely appreciative of the translation.
Take care.
Love Margret
