2004-December - Exciting Santas, Debbie Bailey completes teaching degree

From: Margret Sent: 24/12/2004 7:56 p.m.

24 December 2004

Christmas messages have arrived from Nola and Danny, Rona and Gerald, Mari and Jack, and the Brands mob.  A personal message from Lorraine and Graeme talk about their bounteous vegetable garden.  Lorraine, a very skilled craft worker has diversed into making hats.

An email from Debbie Bailey indicates that she has completed her teaching degree over in Australia.  She is pictured here as a member of her brother Frank's wedding party.  I wrote to Debbie and told her about her cheeky Uncle Danny ringing up VERY early this morning to pass on Christmas Greetings.  Danny and Nola are soon to go up north, when the weather is more fair:  I told him that there was an 8.1 earthquake 800kms fromm Invercargill, South Island and reminded him that when both he and Nola were in their Ruakaka stronghold later than usual based on weird weather, that the earth moved, when several earthquakes occurred and registered at Ruakaka.

Aunty Ruby and her eldest daughter Rosalie (Missy) visited the home of Gloria and John the other week and helped them to settle into their new abode.   Nearby, merely a few miles down the road, Aunty Ruby's eldest son, Neville, and wife Pauline, are celebrating their first grandchild.

How soon to say Happy New Year 2005 - before then, Christmas is the celebration for most.  Mind you, the Political Correctors in the USA are not allowing school bands to play Christmas music; some cities' bylaws are not allowing Christmas decorations in the main thoroughfares as no other 'religion' is so favoured.  What would the retailers do without the $NZ1billion on credit during this period of 'goodwill'?

Darryn and Julie are in England and an email declared a cosy temperature of 5 degrees and the chance to go Xmas shopping.  Mind you, Christchurch and  waiouru could have xnow for Xmas Day.

I've just spent an hour online at www.cableairport.com and viewed the breakfaster-eaters in LotusLand, after they had eaten at Maniac Mike's cafe at the said Cable Airport out in greater Los Angeles..

I saw the Mad Fenton Mob pose for the airport webcamera: Roger and Sherrie and Rangi are hosting at their 'Upland' home Darryn and Julie who have just had a wonderul six days in Rarotonga and a with a well-deserved upgrade to business class on their long-haul flight.

The other was a momentous one in New Zealand's history.  My head was spinning with Parliament dealing with the cupcake law, the zowee law, breather air and the magnetic field.  Where I live, there is the delayed decision of the future of Whenuapai airforce base.  The government has not decided on the future beyond the period of six more years for the airforce of have itself quartered or eighthed in Whenuapai.

NOLA  OF RED BEACH AND JACK OF ASCOT ARE HAVING THEIR RESPECTIVE BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS on 19TH OF DECEMBER,  so happy birthday to the wise ones

I had a morning tea visit at the Red Beach home of Nola and Danny.  I was treated to Danny's computing skills as he sent off a picture of himself as the skinniest Santa in existence.  I think that the Weight Watchers must have put the traditional Santa on a diet.
