ARMISTICE DAY - WITH THE CEREMONY IN WELLINGTON - AND THE RETURN OF THE UNKNOWN WARRIOR

The 11th hour of the 11th month and he is returned from France and interred in Wellington.

Today I wrote a simple email to the Taranaki 'Daily News' to cite the fact that Uncles Fred, Ike, Hip, Tui and Jack are Known Warriors who's names are on the plaque situated on the wall inside Brixton Hall, opposite Waitara Road, honouring the commitment of Brixton and district family members who went off to war.  The New Plymouth District Council has every intention of dispatching the building to Ratapiko.  I think that it is not the right of the NPDC to give away Brixton Hall on the basis that the Ratapiko Hall was destroyed by fire.   A request of the Kairau Marae, the main marae for Pukerangiora Hapu, is to have the building relocated in Matarikoriko Road.

This momentous day, 11th day of the 11th month, is the 11th birthday for the daughters of Peter and Cindy .

Many Happy Returns to Katie and Rebecca

NOVEMBER IS ALSO THE TIME TO CELEBRATE BIRTHDAYS FOR COUSINS VAL-JANE, HUGHIE AND EUGENE AND YOUNG EUGENE CRAWFORD

4th November before the fireworks for Val  and on the 10th its Hughie's turn; then we have Eugene on the 25th and we also celebrate the 21st birthday for Eugene Crawford our NZ rep at inline hockey.

Mari and Jack hosted their Melbourne Cup carnival and we were privileged to read what the bill of fare being offered - I especially wanted the whitebait fritters.  They let us know of their success with the bets - a whisper about Nicola's brilliant success ...  Nicola did have an astounding win in  the Melbourne Cup but she is a prize-winner in another sense in that she and Mark are expecting their first baby next May.

Sharing a little bit about himself, is the fact that Dennis is 18 months from completing his dissertation for his Doctor of Philosophy.  I hope that he tells us what his inevitable hard work entails before he and Irene venture forth on their trip to Sydney to stay with their son Adam during December.  Ka pai, e hoa!

Here are the brilliant Blind Wall Volleyball players of Ruakaka.  Grandma Nola stands proud with her daughter Cindy and daughter-in-law Jan and their daughters during the Labour Weekend 2004 tourney.  The young ladies are:  Megan Fenton, Katie Tong and Rebecca Tong in the front row.  In the back row are Jenny Fenton and Olivia Tong.  Granddad Danny has said that they never lost a game.  You need to be fit is the only proviso
