Hospital Visitors: In New Plymouth hospital this month, we have had several whanau members , namely Aunty Ruby, Uncle Hip and Verban.  Best wishes to all three.

Joe from the USA.  Currently, a dialogue, this means email exchanges, is taking place between myself and Joe Fenton of the USA.  He is trying to help establish if his ancestors from Dunquin, Fentons, are related to our great-grandparents.  Joe has said that 'our Fenton name' may, perhaps, be Finnerty  of Fineighty.  Time will tell.  His family live a few miles from Ventry and he said that during the 1901 census that its likely that the 30+ Fenton families living in south-west Kerry are related. His family have very strong links to the sport of Hockey and have family reps in the National Hockey League.

Jack in a Quandary? Here's the challenge ... Jack writes to ask if the following could be true ... and not for the Guinness Book of World's Records ... I think.  Jack Fenton: first married child of Laura.  Mari (Jack's daughter) first married granddaughter of Laura.  Jo-Ann (Mari's daughter) first married great-granddaughter of Laura.  Nicola (Jo-Ann's daughter) first married great- great-granddaughter of Laura.  Rona - can you or any other cousin help Mari and Jack to solve the riddle?

JACKIE IN A JAM - CONTACT HER SOON A very fit cousin of ours has had to put her time trials on hold and let Sara Ulmer compete in the Olympics in cycling.  Jackie Sheehy has had a troublesome time, a few weeks ago, with the main gates of her workplace closing on her.  The bicycle and she were jammed by the closing gates and, says Jack, her foot was so hurt that she has a plate and several pins in her ankle.  I hope that at the end of the 6-8 weeks of physio that Jackie can get to fulfil her training in Wellington and HAVE A HOLIDAY in Brisbane and eat prawns on my behalf.   http://homepages.shu.ac.uk/~engrg/pullup.mpeg a recommended way to fail  GETTING INTO THE JAIL, JACKIE.  Have any of you seen what a terrible thing riding for health and the environment can do to a person when you see that video?
