| tena koutou toku whaanau, it seems everybody is travelling the world or across the ditch. Irene and I spent a month in Sydney, then returned to work. Irene and I had a great time with our youngest son and we were also impressed when his employer told us that he could become the youngest proprieter of a Harvey Norman franchise in Australasia. just goes to demonstrate that a good educational back ground is important. thanks for the birthday wishes it was good that other members of the whaanau remember. the trip also produced a job offer, at the University of New South Wales, dont know if I would take it because Sydney was a rat race and I now know why Winston Peters is protective of Aotearoa. Hope all of Pop and Nana Fentons uri had a merry xmas and a happy new year, keep safe out there and at this point in time I have to apologise to the Auckland whaanau because they might have seen me on Te Karere at the graduation of one of my students, her tohu was presented to her at her sons ordination and the family asked if she could be presented with her degree at the church Te Pou Herenga Waka in Mangere. went to Hawera to assist my students and low and behold we spy Laura on the street and she had just returned from Melbourne, so the family is on the move.sorry sis that we have not been to wellington and Auckland to vist but the University opend on the 18th of January and this was also the beginning if the teaching year. ma te wa akua nei na Dennis Patuwairua. |

Dear Irene and Dennis
I mised having you write some Christmas and New Year message, Dennis. Now we all know where you and Irene have been too, having a one-month holiday with Adam in Sydney. Very good to hear of Adam moving into the franchise area for Harvey Norman - does he do family discounts - we need lots of air conditioning units in my school, please! and Mum in Waitara does too as Waitara's heatwave has been cooking around 31degrees.
Mind you, in England, Darryn told them at 27 Blake Street that he was experiencing minus 1degrees. Richard, here in muggy Auckland, loves the heat.
Interesting to read about the view you have on Winnie's immigration policy. We still find him entertaining; Mum's one of his greatest fans.
You and Irene off to Sydney, Laura in Melbourne and you get to see her in Hawera, real travellers.
