| 2004 January 15 is an important anniversary for Mari and Jack and this year they celebrated their 49th year; and birthday wishes for January are for Aunty Mona, 74 years on the 15th, and for Dennis who will be 55 years on the 23rd.
Dennis, whose birthday is on 23rd January, is the eldest son of Moki and Eleanor, or to most of us, Aunty Tuppence and Uncle Pei. Born, long ago in 1949, Dennis began school at Waitara Central School. This, too, was the school at which his mother excelled at sports and, as shown in the jubilee booklet, Aunty Tuppence was a noted swimmer. Dennis was skilled in engineering and during his youth he was a apprentice of the year. ( I hope that this detail wil be expanded by you, Dennis). In his late 40's, he entered politics, and at his 50th birthday, we met several of his electorate committee at the Kairau venue. Dennis represented the National Party. His scholarly needs away from the church has been involved with the Otaki-based wananga.. |
