Happy New Year for 2008

A day more to farewell the fast year of 2007.  I have heard of glimpses of the lives of my cousins, often via Mari and Jack in Brisbane or via Mum Mona in Waitara.  The occasional phone call from Danny or Gloria have extended the news.

A choice postcard arrived today and it will mean a scan of the photograph of a pyramid and of the Sphinx is important.  I can share what Val wrote about her and Malcolm's recent trip to Egypt.

Hey, Well we are in Egypt - such an eye opener.  What we take for granted, ie water, food, shelter - they fight for here.  They are so, so poor - it's sad.  Went to the awe-inspiring pyramids on camels for 2 hours.  Was such an amazing sight imagining how they were able to build them as such a long time ago.

They have tourist police and are so corrupt - every turn - they want a hand out and are so aggressive about it.  On way to Nile crise now.

Val and Malc

Mum said that Val was a winner in the belly dancing competitions; she gave her fellow competitors a chance in the fourth of the events. I hope that there is further news from Val and Malcolm on their visits to Cairo, or Gizeh, or the Nile cruise or visiting Alexandria.
